I've mentioned this a couple of times, but now I get the dubious pleasure of posting it in some context. This article talks about why the Super Mario Bros. Movie is an underappreciated masterpiece. While I don't necessarily agree with all the points (although, some of them are oddly right), it is a hilarious and semi-informative read. Anyway, enjoy!

I agree with the destructoid article. A lot of work went into that movie, except the writing. I could see why they would want to change the story to make it more appealing to all moviegoers. They already has 4 or 5 cartoons by then as well.
